The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. send their deepest condolences to the Atlanta Police Department, Retired Detective James J. Biello’s family, and friends. Detective Biello passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Detective Biello was a larger than life figure who was known throughout the Fulton County criminal justice community. On April 15, 1987, he was shot by David Timothy Moore while working an extra job at a restaurant. Moore was convicted of armed robbery and aggravated assault and was sentenced to life plus 60 years in prison. Detective Biello was rendered a quadriplegic. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Barbara, his two sons Alex and Ross and his brother, Retired Lieutenant Anthony Biello.
