Martinez pleaded guilty to the entire indictment and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. However, Martinez discussed the sentence with his lawyer and decided to withdraw his plea. The case will be set for motions and will proceed to trial.

Atlanta–Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr., announces the SUPPLEMENTAL PLEA AND ARRAIGNMENT HEARING for 25-year-old ERROL ALEX MARTINEZ.

At 9:30am on Thursday, November 8, 2018, alleged serial rapist, Errol Alex Martinez will appear before Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jane Barwick for a Supplemental Plea and Arraignment hearing. The defendant has indicated that he will enter a GUILTY plea for the violent anal and vaginal rapes of four different Roswell women between 2014 and 2016. According to the indictment, in all four incidents, the defendant allegedly ambushed the victims. In three of the cases, Martinez is alleged to have broken into the victim’s homes. According to the indictment, the defendant is alleged to have violently assaulted and threatened all of the women into submission before vaginally and anally raping the victims. Martinez is also facing Rape charge in Gwinnett County for a separate incident.

MARTINEZ was indicted on the charges of RAPE, AGGRAVATED SODOMY, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT STRANGULATION, BURGLARY IN THE 1ST DEGREE, SIMPLE BATTERY, POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY, FALSE IMPRISONMENT, THEFT BY TAKING, and KIDNAPPING.  

Judge Jane Barwick, of the Superior Court of Fulton County, is presiding over the case. Assistant District Attorney Shamma Iqbal is leading the prosecution of the case. She was assisted by Investigators Solomon Bibbs and Brian Salters, and Victim-Witness-Advocate Edrene White of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Detectives J. Sanders and P. Reid from the Roswell Police Department were the Lead Investigators in the case.
