District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. said it’s one of the most horrific crimes in county history
Atlanta–Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr., announces today that the MURDER AND PARTICIPATION IN CRIMINAL STREET GANG ACTIVITY case, before a Fulton County Superior Court Jury, against 30-year-old CHRISTOPHER LOCKETT, 23-year-old XAVIER GIBSON, 21-year-old QUATEZ CLARK, 27-year-old JOSHUA ROOKS, and 27-year-old JASPER GREEN has now entered its (5th) day of trial.
The indictment alleges that on October 17, 2016, members of the criminal street gang “Gangster Disciples” brutally tortured, sodomized, and murdered, 33-year-old Christopher Dean in Atlanta. Lockett, Gibson, Clark, Rooks, and Green are on trial for the murder of Dean who the gang-affiliated defendants realized was once a police informant in California. To prove that Dean’s actions would not be tolerated, the defendants beat the victim with a two-by-four and a crowbar, sodomized him with a handle-like object, and seminal fluid was found in his rectal cavity. The defendants then shot Dean twice in the back of the head. The defendants loaded Dean’s body into the trunk of a vehicle, drove it to the H.E. Holmes MARTA Station, and left it in the parking lot where it was later found by police.
