Atlanta—Today, October 2, 2019, Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. announces the commencement of jury selection, in Fulton County Superior Court, for the MURDER case against 20-year-old JARED KEMP.
On March 23, 2018, Jared Kemp was indicted for MURDER, FELONY MURDER, ARMED ROBBERY, HIJACKING A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT related to the death of 58-year-old Toni Abad. Abad was a Publix employee at the time of her death. Abad was murdered on December 21, 2017, and her body was found in the trunk of her vehicle behind a Waffle House on Campbellton Road.

Fulton County Police led the investigation of this case.
