State v. Matthew Moore will commence in Courtroom 8F before Judge Constance Russell

Atlanta—Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. announces the commencement of jury selection, in Fulton County Superior Court, for the RAPE case against 50-year-old MATTHEW MOORE.

On Tuesday, January 28, 2020, jury selection will begin in Fulton County Superior Courtroom 8F before Judge Constance Russell in State v. Matthew Moore. Moore, a former Alabama Corrections Officer, will stand trial for the Rape and Attempted Rape of two victims in Sandy Springs. Moore utilized his position as a corrections officer to threaten and violently sexually assault victims. Moore committed similar crimes in Alabama and Florida, but this will be the first time he is facing trial.

She is being assisted by Assistant District Attorney Shamma Iqbal, Deputy Chief Investigator Donna Kimbrell, and Victim-Witness Advocate LaVert Forrest of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Detective W. Johnson from the Sandy Springs Police Department is the Lead Investigator in the case.
