Trial will begin with jury selection in Courtroom 4A
Atlanta—Today, April 22, 2019, Fulton County District Attorney Paul L. Howard, Jr. announces the beginning of trial, in Fulton County Superior Court, in the RAPE, AGGRAVATED SODOMY, KIDNAPPING, AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, AND FALSE IMPRISONMENT case against 38-year-old KRISTOPHER ROBERSON.
On August 8, 2014, the victim, in this case, was walking along Smith Street in Atlanta when a gold Jeep pulled up beside her. The Jeep came to a stop and Kristopher Roberson exited the vehicle. Wielding a knife, the defendant forced the victim into the Jeep. Roberson then drove to the Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church and parked in the rear of the building. The defendant proceeded to rape and sodomize the victim vaginally and anally while holding a knife. At some point, the victim managed to escape the vehicle and ran from the scene. Roberson was later arrested by Atlanta Police when they spotted a vehicle that matched the description.
